Team Holland
Give. Serve. Love.
Who Is Team Holland?
In November 2012, a small circle of friends came together with one goal: to put a roof on a house. What started as a simple act of kindness became known as TEAM HOLLAND.
Earlier that summer, Cindy Holland lost her husband to pancreatic cancer. Moved by her story, Hank and Kara Lane felt compelled to help. Together with Greg Creighton, Hank gathered a group of men who committed to tearing off the old roof and replacing it with a new one.
Over the course of three days, men worked on the roof while women supported from the ground. Hauling shingles, collecting nails, and doing whatever was needed. Many had never even touched a roofing shingle before, but the spirit of unity and purpose was powerful. It was humbling, uplifting and unforgettable.
That weekend changed us. We witnessed firsthand the impact a group of willing hearts and hands can make when united for a common cause. It was more than just a roof, it was a message of hope, love and community.
From that experience, a tradition was born. Cindy and this team made a commitment to take on a similar project every November, helping a family in need. Our mission is to serve, to connect, and to show what faith in action can accomplish.
Each year, TEAM HOLLAND partners with a new family, offering support, labor and fellowship. Our hope is that through these efforts, others will be inspired to seek out opportunities to help their neighbors and be part of something greater than themselves.
